Throw another shrimp on the barbie!

Why do the American’s call it shrimp?  It’s a prawn!  And cilantro is another pet peeve, it’s coriander for Pete’s sake!  And who’s Pete god damnit?!  But I digress…

Want a quick and tasty meal?  I’m all about quick and tasty.  And HEALTHY!  See my Garlic Prawns recipe below.

Garlic Prawns & Salad

10 x small to medium peeled & de-veined green prawns

1 x clove of garlic

Chilli (to your taste)

Juice of 1/2 a lemon

Salad ingredients of your choice (I used baby leaves, cherry tomatoes, avocado, feta and capsicum)

Balsamic vinegar & olive oil to dress

Toss the prawns in the garlic, chilli and lemon juice.  Heat a little olive oil in a pan and over a high heat cook the prawns until just cooked through (should only take a couple of minutes).

Mix your salad ingredients together and drizzle the dressing over the top.

Serve the prawns with a little aoili on the side (you can make your own or a teaspoon of Paul Newman’s is just as tasty).

And that’s it.  Lazy cooking at it’s best.
